In the early morning hours when the moon is still full and night is still night, Roddy The Rooster dreams he is...

SPACE COMMANDER RODDY THE ROOSTER!!

The red and yellow rocket ship captained by Space Commander Roddy The Rooster was entering a new galaxy.

"Georgia Control, Georgia Control, Space Commander Roddy The Rooster here. I am entering the recently discovered XO galaxy. What are my instructions?"

Space Commander Roddy The Rooster spoke to HQ via the microphone on the busy control panel. He waited HQ's reply.

"We have heard that the beautiful Earth Princess, Princess Ellen has been captured by XO Aliens. According to unconfirmed sightings she could be found on XO Planet #1. Your mission is to find and rescue Earth Princess Ellen. Use great care - the XO Aliens are dangerous!"

Roddy turned his booster rockets to full and darted off toward XO Planet #1. "I'm glad I brought my Action Belt, gives me great comfort," Roddy said to himself, patting the highly decorated utility belt tied around his waist.

Roddy landed his rocket ship on a barren field after picking up Princess Ellen's image on his computer screen.

Roddy alighted from his rocket ship and walked to the top of a small hill. As he looked over the peak he saw Princess Ellen captured into a small moon that floated above a dozen XO Aliens.

"What is your planet like?" one of the aliens yelled at Princess Ellen.

"Are you from a friendly planet or a warring planet?" yelled another.

"She doesn't look very friendly!" commented another.

"No! And she's so... different to us!" lamented another alien.

Roddy watched on, from a safe distance, as one of the larger aliens spoke up, "Enough!" he shouted, "Give the girl a chance!!"

Princess Ellen was, indeed, very scared. All she could remember was a song that she loved, that spoke of home and all that was dear to her. So she sang:-

Draw a picture of my home
and what is it I see?
A little house with a garden
And a big old tree.
The picket fence has a rusty gate that swings both ways
And an old wooden shed in the garden
from bygone days.
Under a sky so blue.

Paint a picture of my home,
and what is it I see
The house is white, the roof is red,
and there's a wattle tree.
The garden fence has a purple gate
All the colours of the flowers
you can't separate
Under a sky so blue

I love my home and when all's been said,
I can climb the tree by the old brown shed,
and look across the land at the grass so green
and the hills in the distance, they're the best to be seen.
When the sun shines bright it's a magnificent view
Under a sky so blue

Space Commander Roddy The Rooster watched on as Princess Ellen's beautiful song filled the XO Aliens with love.

By the time she finished singing, all the aliens had tears in their eyes.

"Release this girl!" shouted the larger alien, "Release her now."

And with that, two of the guards freed the grateful Princess.

"We will make her our queen!!" cheered the larger alien, punching his fist into the air.

"Our Queen! Our Queen!" chanted the aliens as Princess Ellen looked around for a way to escape.

Suddenly a green beam of light hit Princess Ellen. It was Roddy The Rooster's Retriever Ray, a green beam of light that emitted from the middle of his Action Belt.

Princess Ellen was magically lifted into the air by the green beam of light and floated over the alien's heads to land beside Roddy.

Roddy and Princess Ellen ran down the small hill toward the rocket ship as fast as they could, bounded on board, and blasted off - all in an instant!

Princess Ellen was safe!

Space Commander Roddy The Rooster smiled at Princess Ellen as he contacted HQ, "Georgia Control, Georgia Control - mission accomplished!"
