Written by Roddy Lee In the early morning hours when the moon is still full and night is still night, Roddy The Rooster dreams he is... SPACE COMMANDER RODDY THE ROOSTER!! The red and yellow rocket ship captained by Space Commander Roddy The Rooster was entering a dangerous galaxy. "Georgia Control, Georgia Control, Space Commander Roddy The Rooster here. We are entering the XO galaxy. What are our instructions?" As Roddy spoke to HQ via the microphone on the busy control panel, he was watched closely by his deputy for this mission, Deputy Commander Joe The Jolly Jumbuck. Both Joe and Roddy waited HQ's reply. "Your mission is to find and destroy the El Destructo Invisible Ray Gun that the XO aliens have been using on our space transporter ships. From previous reports we suspect the El Destructo Invisible Ray Gun can be found on XO Planet #3. Use great care men - and stay out of sight, otherwise you could end up vanishing into thin air!" "It sounds scary, Roddy," Joe shivered, "How can we reach the planet and stay out of sight!?" "It's easy Deputy Joe," stated Roddy, "I've just had the rocket fitted out with a new disguise mechanism. Along with my ever trusty Action Belt we'll save the day!" And with that Space Commander Roddy The Rooster hit a large silver button on the control panel and suddenly the rocket ship was surrounded by a thick grey cloud. "No one can see us now!" exclaimed Roddy. The red and yellow rocket ship edged slowly toward XO Planet #3 disguised as a large cloud. A XO Alien guard noticed the cloud but thought it only meant rain. The rocket ship, in the thick grey cloud, landed successfully on the planet near a large building. And in no time Space Commander Roddy The Rooster and Deputy Commander Joe The Jolly Jumbuck had alighted the rocket ship and were heading for the large building. "You take a look around the back, see what you can see, "Roddy said to Joe, "I want to check out the window up there." Roddy pointed to a lighted window a storey above. Joe hesitantly crept around the rear of the building. Roddy climbed to the small landing outside the lighted window. As Roddy looked through the window, Joe was captured by an alien guard and thrown into the room Roddy was looking down into. There were three alien guards and, in the same room Roddy could see the El Destructo Invisible Ray Gun. "Oh no!" exclaimed Roddy to himself, "Ah, but I have a plan!" A minute later Roddy was in the middle of the pathway in front of the large building jumping up and down, squawking and crowing! "Come and get me!" he yelled. Just then the three alien guards appeared at the front door of the large building holding the El Destructo Invisible Ray Gun. "Fire!" yelled one of the aliens. As the alien fired the El Destructo Invisible Ray Gun, Roddy produced a small mirror from his Action Belt. The El Destructo Invisible ray hit the small mirror and deflected back at the three alien guards. "B A N G!" A massive explosion and the three alien guards and the El Destructo Invisible Ray Gun vanished into thin air! Deputy Commander Joe The Jolly Jumbuck ran out of the building and joined Space Commander Roddy The Rooster and they hightailed it back to the rocket ship. Roddy and Joe ran into the thick grey cloud that still surrounded the rocket ship and a moment later the red and yellow rocket ship appeared through the cloud, leaving it behind as it sped off into the galaxy, mission complete! "Thanks for saving me Roddy," said Joe. Space Commander Roddy The Rooster smiled, "We're heading home! Deputy Commander Joe, contact Georgia Control - mission accomplished!".
